FORTRAN-90 Procedure calls Inlining for AT&T U.S.A.

The project involved Inline expansion of FORTRAN-90 procedure calls. Inline expansion of the subprogram call is the replacement of an invocation of the subprogram by a copy of the body of the subprogram. Inline expansion not only eliminates the call and return overhead of the procedure call to speed up the program but depending upon the number of times subprogram is called, it may even increase the space efficiency. Besides this, it produces opportunities for optimizations, and it also eliminates the inhibiting effect which subprogram calls typically have on compiler optimizations.
